Met Gala 2022: Our Inspired Looks

Every year, the first Monday of May is a big day within the fashion industry; designers showcase their fabulous creations and every A-lister you can think of walks the red carpet — and the internet and media go stir crazy over the outfits! It’s always an unforgettable event. For the next few weeks, this fundraiser will be a hot topic. Who was the best dressed? What designer gown failed to slay?

The Met Gala theme of 2022 is Gilded Glamour, with attendees taking inspiration from New York’s Gilded Age, where excess and grandeur defined fashion. Pop singer Billie Eilish graced us with an upcycled Gucci dress, actress Blake Lively’s Met Gala outfit was inspired by the Statue of Liberty, and model Bella Hadid stepped out in a black corset Burberry dress.

The fashion brands and important names in the business have covered the gowns, so we’re going to explore our favourite Met Gala jewellery looks and provide you with a couple of inspired pieces.

Our Best Met Gala Looks

Blake Lively

The name currently on everyone’s lips, Blake Lively attended the event looking like a princess. With a gown that outshined all others, the actress also wore a bejewelled tiara to match her Statue of Liberty-inspired dress and a pair of vibrant emerald drop earrings by Lorraine Schwartz.

At VK Jewellery, we love gemstone pieces, so we’ve got many options for you to channel a bit of Blake Lively glam into your next evening event. This pair of Heather Ruby 14K Gold Earrings will have everyone asking where you got them from; featuring rubies and diamonds, these are unmissable. For something more subtle and dazzling, our Felicity Aquamarine Earrings are showstoppers!

Emma Chamberlain

Dripping in diamonds, Vogue’s interviewer Emma Chamberlain is Cartier’s latest ambassador, meaning her Met Gala outfit was sparkle-city. The businesswoman wore a vintage platinum and diamond Cartier tiara dating back to 1911, as well as a statement geometric neckpiece adorned in yellow and white diamonds. Replicate this look with our Chiara Spike 14K Gold Necklace — we’re almost certain it fits the theme too! — or pick something a little bolder, such as this colourful and striking Elizabeth Crown 18K Rose Gold Necklace.

Billie Eilish

Dressed in upcycled Gucci (we love an ethical Queen), Billie Eilish was not only praised for her ‘Bridgerton’ inspired corset dress, she wore a gorgeous vintage choker from Madison Avenue jeweller, Fred Leighton. It’s a standout scallop diamond necklace that completes the singer’s ‘regencycore’ style. We’ve chosen this Elena 14K Gold Necklace to meet the Met Gala’s reputation. While it’s not a perfect match for Eilish’s jewellery, it fits the tone and theme of this year’s event.

Kendall Jenner

Part of the Kardashian-Jenner clan, Kendall Jenner debuted bleached eyebrows, paired with a dramatic black skirt and minimal jewellery. She wore simple, decadent (yes, an accessory can be both) diamond drop earrings by Lorraine Schwartz (the family’s go-to jeweller) and let the outfit work its magic. Create this understated look yourself with our Aude Diamond Earrings, made with 18K Solid White Gold and flaunting many sparkling gemstones.

Maude Apatow

HBO’s Euphoria star Maude Apatow wowed at the Met Gala with a very traditional Old Hollywood look — dark and sophisticated, with sleek hair waves, crimson lipstick and a diamond choker. Sheer clothing isn’t always a winner on the red carpet, but the actress made it look effortlessly elegant when paired with delicate earrings

In a similar style, we love these dainty Ottoman Diamond 18K Rose Gold Earrings. The rose gold is astonishingly beautiful! Don’t be put off by the small size; sometimes all you need to complete an outfit is a modest, stylish accessory.
